Erectile Dysfunction (ED) |
The National Institute of Health, USA, defines erectile dysfunction or ED as ‘the persistent inability to achieve and/or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity.’ ED is a far more common problem than previously recognised or acknowledged. It has been brought into the open with the discovery of safe and effective treatment especially oral drugs such as phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (PDE5 Inhibitors) with well-known names such as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis.
While ED is easy to diagnose, the root cause of ED may not be so easy to define as each patient presents with his own combination and permutation of risk factors. We seek to define the ED problem for our patients in a holistic manner and set out a treatment plan that best suit their situation. |
